Michele L. "Missy" Mowrer, 45, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 14, 2015, at Hershey Medical Center following a long and courageous battle against cancer. Born in Lancaster to Jay E. and E. Naomi (Martin) Taylor, Missy was the loving wife of Richard L. Mowrer, Jr. Missy graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and a Minor in Economics. She was an employee of Highmark Casualty, tirelessly working throughout her battle with cancer. Missy had a strong faith which carried her through life. She was a fun-loving and vibrant woman who was devoted to her God and family. Missy was a 13 year member of Millersville Bible Church where she taught in both the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also participated in a variety of Bible Study groups. Missy was a member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and was the former Chair of the Professional Business Women's Forum. She loved photography and belonged to a book club. In addition to her husband and parents, Missy leaves behind her 2 wonderful sons, Alex and Aaron. She is survived by 2 siblings: James E. Taylor, husband of Lisa, of Wyomissing; and Karen Greineder, wife of Michael, of Lancaster. She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews. Missy will truly be missed by innumerable people whose lives she touched. Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Millersville Bible Church, 1940 New Danville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Ruhl's United Methodist Cemetery, Manheim. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions in Missy's name be made to Hope for Healing Fund, Penn State Cancer Institute, 500 University Dr., Hershey, PA 17033. Please indicate a memo on the check: "In Memory of Michele L. Mowrer."
