Michael N. Kuzma, 63, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on April 1, 2023. He was born in Lancaster to the late Edward T. and Patricia B. Kuzma. He attended St. Anne's Catholic school and Lancaster Catholic High School. He went on to graduate from Penn State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology. Michael remained a devout Catholic where he was a member of the Church of St. Benedict. He had a love for animals which motivated his interest in Animal Science. He had the opportunity to work for a lab that specialized in the care of Monkeys. He also worked for Sire Power and had a career with Merck Pharmaceutical Company. After his retirement he sold cars for Steve Moyer Subaru. He also owned and cared for two horses, several dogs, a piranha, an iguana and his parrot, Bubba. Michael was also quite fond of plants, especially orchids. He built a three seasons room onto his home that included a misting and draining system so that they could flourish. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Orchid Society which gave him the opportunity to travel to places like Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and Ecuador to learn more about the different species. He continued to travel throughout his life. He was also a previous member of the Lancaster Polo Club. Michael is survived by his brother Edward Kuzma Jr husband of Bonnie, their children Melanie Kuzma partner of Matthew Chronister, Brandon Kuzma and Kathryn Bailey wife of Todd; his sister Kristine Kuzma wife of Peter Ferrara, their children Matthew Ferrara fiancé of Rebecca Osterling, Dr. Kristopher Ferrara fiancé of Emily Dunmire; his brother Thomas Kuzma husband of Cindy, their children Joshua Kuzma husband of Alison, Jonathon Kuzma husband of Jessica, Justin Kuzma husband of Ashley and Julianne Smoker wife of Colton; ten great nieces and nephews; Chase, Luke, Gabriel, Ariadne, Ezra, Dexton, Connor, Everett, Liam and Maisey. Friends and Family are welcome at St. Anthony of Padua Church (501 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602) April 15, 2023, for a visitation at 10:00 AM where a service will be held at 11:00 AM. Michael will be put to rest following service at Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, 175 Charles Rd, Lancaster.
