IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Edward
Donley
June 27, 2024
Michael Edward Donley, 75, of Lebanon, passed away at Celebration Villa, under the care of Grane Hospice, on June 27, 2024. Born in Lancaster, Mike was the son of the late Earl W. and Jeanne M. (Humpf) Donley.
Mike proudly served in both the US Army during the Vietnam War and US Coast Guard during peacetime. A paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Mike was awarded the bronze star for his meritorious service in Vietnam. When Mike returned home from Vietnam in March of 1970, the Lancaster Newspaper ran a full article about his time in Vietnam. Despite a country that at that time refused to honor our Vietnam Veterans, Mike's love for the United States never wavered. In the US Coast Guard, Mike was a member of the Search & Rescue team. Retiring from the US Coast Guard in 1989, Mike faithfully served his country for more than 20 years.
A lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lancaster, Mike owned and operated the Twin Kiss below the Buck for many years. He loved country music and was a country line dance instructor. Mike also enjoyed playing pinochle and ran pinochle tournaments.
Mike is survived by his siblings: Eileen Zweifach, wife of Steve; Connie Donley; Thomas Donley, husband of Earline; Mariellen Payne, wife of David; Patrick Donley, husband of Denise; and Theresa Wagner, wife of Gary. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be invited to attend a viewing from 10-11AM, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Funeral Services will follow at 11AM. Interment with military honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30PM.
