Michael A. DeMascola, 64, of Pequea, passed away on Wednesday, July 29 2009, at his home. He was born on March 16, 1945, in Philadelphia and he was a son of Dorothy E. (Tucker) DeMascola and the late Albert M. DeMascola.

Michael was known as the "Mayor of Pequea". He loved nature, the outdoors, hiking and biking. Michael also enjoyed the wildflowers at Shenk's Ferry. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball. He loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by two daughters: Laura E. DeMascola of Lancaster, and Danielle L. "Dani" DeMascola of Columbia, and three grandsons: David N. Botte, Joseph Botte, and Frank A Botte. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by a brother, Robert P. DeMascola, and a niece, Kristene T. DeMascola.

Memorial Services will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at 11:00 AM from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc. 441 North George Street, Millersville PA. with Fr. Mark Weiss officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 AM.
