Obituary

Michael J. Deatrick, age 72, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Williamsport, PA, following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster on May 27, 1953, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen Deatrick. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. Deatrick.

After graduating from Lancaster Catholic High School, Mike joined the United States Air Force. Creating a career from his military time, he served from 1972 – 1992 retiring as a Staff Sergeant in civil engineering.

He was an avid fan of professional wrestling, Penn State football, and the Miami Dolphins. He found joy in cooking and eating it afterward.

Mike's world revolved around his family and his love for them was amazing. He is survived by his wife Barbara Deatrick, his children, Daniel Deatrick and Michelle Van Poole, brothers, Gary Deatrick, husband of Diane, Mark Deatrick, husband of Cindy, and his beloved "Sissy", Rose A. Geiter, and over 30 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Richard & Elizabeth Houser, and Jacob & Alice Deatrick.

A Funeral Service honoring Mike will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, beginning at 3 PM. Guests are invited to a viewing from 1 – 3 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in Mike's name to the Wounded Warrior Project .
