Mel went to his Heavenly Home Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was 95 years old and died peacefully at Luther Acres Retirement Community in Lititz. Mel was the son of the late Amos and Amy (Landis) Snyder of Lititz, and the husband of Arlene (Hershey) Snyder, with whom he celebrated 73 years of marriage this year. Mel was a member of Calvary Church of Lancaster, where he served as an usher for many years. He was employed at Packaging Corporation in Lancaster for 30 years. After his retirement from there, he worked at Manheim Auto Auction for 20 years. Mel loved to tease and laugh, and his humor will be missed. Mel is survived by two children, a daughter Kay, married to John Keohane of Sonoma, CA, and a son, Kenneth, husband of Candy Snyder of Manheim, 4 grandchildren, Cleo Keohane of Los Angeles, CA, Tonya Snyder of Ephrata, Shanan, wife of Jason Garber, of Mount Joy, and Seth Snyder, of Manheim, 5 great-grandchildren, a sister, Wanda Hess of Landis Homes, and a niece, Helen Nolt. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
