The family of Matthew S. Whisman, age 25, of Peach Bottom, wish to announce his unfortunate and tragic passing on April 4, 2024. He was the son of Tony N. and Pamela J. (Hughes) Whisman.

Matt is fondly remembered for his inquisitive nature. Much to his family's dismay, he oftentimes would dismantle electronics and household items to find out how they worked. Ultimately, he wished to be a carpenter. Listening to music, dancing, singing, and helping others were just a few things Matt is remembered for. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed watching and playing sports.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him including his parents, siblings, Ahna, Andrew, Tyler, Braxton, Jamie, Zachary, Ethan, and Lily, and nieces and nephews, Micah, Yarielis, and Charlotte, as well as a host of extended family, his birth family the Riveras, and his birth mother, Carmen Acosta, and maternal grandparents, Michael and Mary Hughes. He was preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, James & Deborah Boyd.

A Memorial Service honoring Matt will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the True Gospel Baptist Church, 853 Scotland Rd. Quarryville, PA 17566, beginning at 4 PM. The family will receive guests at the church from 3 PM until the time of the service.
