Mary "Jane" Yeager, 85, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 8, 2025. Born on August 8, 1940, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Dorothy (Levering) Mellott. She was married to David Yeager for 67 years.

Known as "Jane" to most, she was a long-time employee of Good and Plenty Restaurant and then the Bird in Hand Restaurant where her talents in the kitchen were cherished by both coworkers and guests.

Jane's greatest happiness came from caring for her family. She was a gifted cook who loved making delicious meals for her family, especially during gatherings and holidays. She also enjoyed the time she spent laughing, shopping and having breakfast with her sister Carol. Jane had a fondness for old Westerns like Gunsmoke and The Rifleman, loved tending her garden, and enjoyed the music of Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley.

In addition to her beloved husband, David, Jane is survived by her five children: David Yeager, husband of Darlene, of Longs, SC; Pam Papizzo, wife of the late Peter, of Lancaster; Linda Scotten, wife of Robert, of Surfside, SC; Marge Bemesderfer, wife of the late John, of Lancaster; and Greg Yeager, engaged to Jami, of Birdsboro; her siblings, Polly Styer and Carol J. Bird; 12 grandchildren—Mindy Dunn, Brandy Haggerty, Stacey Lund, Jared Lund, Nicole Saylor, Joshua Myers, Steven Bemesderfer, Eric Bemesderfer, Kirsten Hershberger, Kelsey Lourido, Colton Yeager, and Kaley Yeager—18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Elsie Yates and Shirley Quay, brother Allen B. Mellott Jr, and granddaughter Monique Patterson.

Jane will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her warmth, her humor, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Her legacy of togetherness and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Services will be at the convenience of the family
