Mary Tenneh, 63, of Lancaster, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital, Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Born in Zodru, Nimba County, Liberia, Africa, she was the daughter of the late David Krayee and Yay Nu. Mary was the wife of the late William Tenneh who died in 2017.

Before coming to the United States to live in Lancaster, in 2004, Mary enjoyed her business in selling food supplies in Monrovia, Liberia.

Mary enjoyed cooking, going to church, listening to Nimba Krahn gospel music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for their physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Mary was a devoted, God-fearing woman, who led by her example and displayed a servant's heart to all she knew. A baptized Lutheran, she belonged to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster.

Mary was the devoted and faithful mother to her children: surviving is Jemama T. Foster, of Lancaster, Emmanuel Tenneh, of Scranton, and Sylvester Tenneh, of Kentucky. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Faith, Pauline, Angel, Thomas, Prince, Shauna, Joshua, and Jahmere; great-grandchild Fiona; siblings: Annie Krayee and Tadiiké Kouidh; Mary was preceded in death by 3 children who died during the Liberian Civil War of 1990: Patience, Maweh, and Sewah Tenneh; her sister, Rebecca Pah and niece, Comfort Poquee.

Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 10AM, Friday, July 15, 2022, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 31 S. Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with Rev. Timothy Mentzer officiating. Interment will be private.
