Mary Martha Reeder Simmons died on Wednesday, July 2. Born in Altoona Pa, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bessie Reeder. She and her husband, Charles E. Simmons, celebrated their 67 ^th wedding anniversary in June.

Retired from the Hempfield School District in 1978, Mary enjoyed her retirement by loving her family.

Her children are daughter, MaryAnn, wife of Glenn E Hess; son, Charles Robert Simmons and son, Donald L. Simmons, husband of Carol Ament Simmons. Dear to her heart are her grandchildren, Karen, Jennifer, Kathryn, C. Matthew, Lisa, Scott and Justin and her great grandchildren, Zachary, Zane, Noah, Timothy, Logan ,Abigail and baby. Her brothers, John, Robert, and Alfred and her sisters, Bessie Packer and Agnes Detrich, preceded Mary in death.

The celebration of Mary's life will take place at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Broad Street, East Petersburg on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 11am with Reverend John Smaligo and Reverend Mary Margaret Ruth officiating.  A viewing will be held at the church from 10am until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, please offer a donation in Mary's name to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O.
