Mary Louise Shultz, 80, of Mountville, PA passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Hospice of Mt. Joy. She was born in Lancaster to the late William R. and Louisa M. (Sterback) Pitz.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mary was the first girl to go to St. Joseph Academy in Columbia and graduated. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia.

She was a registered nurse with the Columbia Hospital and Lancaster General Hospital. Mary also worked as a general and private duty nurse. She started in substance abuse when it opened in July 1985 for thirteen years.

Mary was a member of the Legion of Mary, Pennsylvania Catholic Beneficial League (PCBL), and AARP.

Mary is survived by two sisters, Helen F. O'Connor, wife of James, of Evanston, IL, Dorothy E. Foltz, of Clearwater, FL, nephew Stephen Foltz, of Dade City, FL and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Joseph Catholic Church 441 St. Joseph St. Lancaster, PA 17603 on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11am with Msgr. Richard Youtz as Celebrant. Interment will take place from St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
