"AVON LADY"
Mary C. Schucker, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, August 17th, at the Hamilton Arms Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. & Josephine M. (Vitale) Madonna. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard L. Schucker who died in 1980. Mary was a 1943 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and a long-time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Mary work for The Hamilton Watch Company as a fuse assembler from 1943 until 1954 and for over 45 Years, Mary sold Avon Products on Lancaster's eastside. During the 1960's she served on the women's auxiliary of the Local Knights of Columbus #2294 and the women's auxiliary of the USMCR Unit in Columbia. Mary was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and reading & spending time with family. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away at age 93. Mary is survived by a son Michael A., husband of Susanne M. Schucker of Quarryville, a brother Anthony L. Madonna and a sister Angelina Eckenrode. Also surviving are six grandchildren, & six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mary is preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Madonna and two sisters, Virginia A. Madonna and Margaret J. Heisse. Friends will be received on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 7-9PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with the recitation of the Rosary at 830PM. Friends may call again on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA from 9-10AM with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM, the Rev. Daniel O'Brien as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Gettysburg National Cemetery at 130PM.
