Mary E. Pyle, 88, formerly of Wilmington DE, died Sunday August 3, 2014 at Landis Homes in Lititz, PA. Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Mary Jane (Penney) Jimison. Mary's husband Robert R. Pyle died in 1998.

A 1944 graduate of Chester High School, Mary worked at the Chester Post Office during WWII sorting Military Mail. She married Robert, had two sons, and returned to the post office for a short time. She lived in Wilmington for 46 years. Mary was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal Church in Chester.

Mary is survived by two sons, Robert David Pyle, husband of Barbara of Lampeter, PA, and Donald N. Pyle, husband of Violeta of Clayton, DE; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her brother Robert C. Jimison, husband of Amy, of Wilmington, DE; longtime friend Betty Howanski of Leiperville, PA and 8 nieces and 4 nephews.

The Funeral will be held 11 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Landis Homes East Bethany Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543, with Chaplain James Leaman officiating. Mary's family will greet friends 10:30 to 11 AM in the chapel on Thursday. Interment will take place 11 AM Friday, August 8, 2014, in Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 W. Ridge Rd., Linwood, PA 19061.
