Mary Claire Matyi, 60, of Lancaster, PA passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at home. She was the wife of Alexander J. Matyi IV to whom she was married for 22 years. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of Michael C. Schiavone, Sr. of Lancaster, PA and the late Isabelle (Walther) Schiavone. Claire was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and worked as a cashier with Weis Markets. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, friends and her two dogs Gizmo and Cody. Claire attended St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.

In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by her siblings, Patricia wife of Stuard Hogentogler of Mountville, PA, Mary K. wife of Dr. David Roda of Lancaster, PA, Teresa Ann wife of Phillip Horn of Mt. Joy, PA and Michael C. Schiavone, Jr. husband of Yolanda of Mount Joy, PA, Margaret wife of John Garguilo of Frederick, MD and Kathryn Schiavone-Mullins of Fairfax, VA. Claire is also survived by the following beloved nieces and nephews: Karen and David Roda, Joshua Horn, Keri Lynn (Hogentogler) Edwards, Jared Hogentogler, Adam, Christopher and Michael Schiavone, Emily and Dominic Garguilo, and Mary and Michael Mullins.

A Christian Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 8pm at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the convenience of her family.
