Obituary

Mary N. Lupoli, 77, of Lititz, PA, and formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away near her home in Lititz, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Mary shared 57 wonderful years with her husband Vincent P. Lupoli, Sr.

Born in Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vera (DiVincenzo) Figurelli. Mary graduated from St. Joseph Hill Academy and earned her bachelor's in psychology from the College of Staten Island. She worked for the NYPD for 24 years fulfilling many administrative roles.

Mary and Vincent worshipped at El-Bethel Assembly of God in Staten Island for many years. They enjoyed vacationing to Lancaster County, going to places like Kitchen Kettle and shopping for Christmas gifts. They moved to Lancaster County 11 years ago and retired in the quaint town of Lititz, PA. She loved books; she was an avid reader of God's Word, fiction novels, American History, and daily devotionals, and she loved the smell of a new book. Mary also enjoyed researching the family ancestry and their personal history. She had an excellent memory, was a great writer and storyteller, and she had an eloquent speaking voice. Mary was very smart and had a quick wit about her.

Mary adored Teddy Bears, especially Winnie-the-Pooh. She played the piano early on in life and enjoyed worship and Christmas music. Fall was certainly her favorite season with the nice weather, beautiful foliage, and wonderful scents of the season.

Most important to Mary was her family. A wonderful and loving homemaker, she enjoyed decorating and cooking for the Holidays. Mary was the heart of her family, and she always put others' needs before her own. Her kindness and generous spirit extended beyond her family and included several close friends who are like family, both locally in PA as well as lifelong friends in NY, and beyond. She leaves behind a legacy of faith in Christ, joy in great times, joy and perseverance in the midst of hardship, generosity to her family, friends and ministries around the world, and ultimately the love that still shines bright in the eyes of her children and grandchildren. She was truly a one-of-a-kind friend, mother and wife, and she will be terribly missed.

In addition to her husband Vincent, Mary's family includes their five children, Anita M. Warner (wife of Glenn), Teresa M. Gomez (wife of Guillermo), Molly M. Lupoli, Vincent P. Lupoli, Jr. (husband of Joani), and Joseph M. Lupoli. She has nine grandchildren; Gianna, Isabella, Ariana, Vinnie, Christian, Sofia, Chloe, Joshua, and Miles; and her older brother, Victor Figurelli of Texas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph Figurelli.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a contribution in Mary's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or to A Gift of Time (P.O. Box 427, Georgetown, TX 78627). A Gift of Time is a dementia-related non-profit organization that helps to make a positive impact to those with memory loss and their caregivers. Mary's late sister-in law, Camille Figurelli (wife of Victor), was afflicted with Alzheimer's disease late in her life, and this organization offers support to those like her and caregivers as an "adult day center".
