Mary Alice Kahley, 90, formerly of Selinsgrove, PA passed away on January 31, 2023 at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown, PA.

She was born August 2, 1932 in Burnham, PA to the late Ruth and Atwood Pursel, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ronal J. Kahley and her sister, Barbara Lewis of Fairless Hills, PA. She is survived by 2 brothers Daniel Pursel of Ft. Myers, FL; Atwood Pursel Jr. (Tim) and wife, Jane of Fairless Hills, PA, and her companion Horace Wagner.

Also surviving are: her daughters, Debra Witwer and husband Rick of Conway, SC, Betsy Harmon and husband Michael of Frisco, TX, and son Jeffrey Kahley and husband Mike of Lancaster. Mary Alice has 4 grandchildren: Rebecca Sosik and husband Tom of Etters, PA; Megan Kapur and husband Vince of Rockville, MD, Jared Witwer and wife Briana of Harrisburg, PA and Jonah Harmon and wife Amber of Frisco, TX; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Burnham High School, Class of 1950, and Harrisburg Polyclinic School of nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at the Lewistown Hospital and the PA State Department of Welfare. Upon her retirement she enjoyed traveling, playing golf, reading and crafts (including knitting prayer shawls and caps for chemo patients). She was also an avid Penn State football fan.

She is a past member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove, VFW Post 6631, Eastern Star, and Shade Mountain Golf Course.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Sell Chapel of Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Dr, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Interment will be private. Family and friends will be received from 10:30-11AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Masonic Village Hospice, 98 Masonic Dr, Suite 101, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
