Mary Ellen Kahler, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Hamilton Arms Center.

She was born in Millersville, PA, the daughter of the late Oscar V. and Dorothy Lehr Copeland, and the wife of Edward B. Kahler, Jr. of Lancaster.  They celebrated their 60 ^th wedding anniversary on December 7, 2006.

She was a 1938 graduate of Manor High School, Millersville.  She worked as a secretary for many years at Millersville State Teachers College, The American Red Cross, and Alspach and Ryder Attorneys.

She enjoyed gardening, Philadelphia sports teams, vacations with her husband, her three children, and spending time with her three grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children; Edward B. III, husband of Patricia R. Kahler of Conestoga; Betsy Pederson, wife of Chris Pederson of Lancaster and Chris Kahler of Baltimore, Maryland.  She is also survived by three grandchildren, Graham E. Kahler, Ian S. Kahler, and Ethan Pederson.  She was predeceased by a brother, Paul J. Copeland.

Funeral services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N. George St., Millersville on Monday at 11:00am.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10:00am until time of service.  Interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.  Flowers will be received at the funeral home or contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
