Mary Jane Weaver, 95, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the widow of Paul S. Weaver, Sr, and the daughter of Charles E. and Marguerite Marrow Gerfin. Mary Jane graduated from high school and lived her life as a "true" homemaker in every sense of the word. She was a terrific cook including scratch recipes for apple dumplings and shoo-fly pies as well as any pie, the best sandwiches for school lunches, and delicious gravy with any meal. When she was 17, she worked for Hamilton Watch as a jewel setter and also worked at Watt and Shand where she enjoyed delivering homemade jelly to employees. She will be fondly remembered as the Jelly Lady. She was a former member of the Church of the Apostles, UCC and was voted Miss Lancaster County in 1937. Her true passion was spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce M. Kules, Jamestown, Rhode Island ,and Karen M., wife of John D. Paul III, Lancaster, PA, seven grandchildren, Anthony Scott Kules, Jennifer Catherine, wife of Edward C. Dotts, Paulette C. Kules, Joshua Paul, husband of Colleen Ragan, Stephanie Lyons, Christoper Scott Weaver, Sean Weaver, and great grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandria, Olivia, Benjamin, Justine, Mason, Peyton, Lucy, Ellie, Julian, Joseph, Jacob, Elizabeth and Jonathan and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul S. Weaver, Jr., a brother, Charles Gerfin, and two sisters, Dorothy Spece and Catherine Gerfin and two grandchildren, Scott Weaver Baker and Victoria Julia Kules. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary Jane's Funeral Service from the Chapel at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545 on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Ginny Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will take place on Friday 2:00 P.M. at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
