Mary Elizabeth (Frey) Neff, age 97, passed away at the Mennonite Homes in Lancaster on May 14, 2024. Born in Manor Township, she was the daughter of the late Enos K. and Clara J. (Barefoot) Frey. Mary was a proud graduate of Manor-Millersville High School (Penn Manor). On April 6, 1947, she married C. Richard Neff and their devoted union lasted 77 years upon her passing.

Mary was the devoted wife and partner in life and work to her beloved husband, with whom she toiled tirelessly on their family farm. Her industrious spirit extended beyond the farm, as she also applied her skills as a laborer at several local establishments, including Schick Electric, Penn Dairy, and Anderson Bakery. Throughout her career, she was respected for her strong work ethic and dedication. Mary was also a proud member of the Teamsters Local Union No. 771, where she found camaraderie and solidarity with her fellow workers. Her involvement in the union was a testament to her belief in the power of collective effort and community.

A true animal lover, Mary had a special fondness for cats and dogs, finding joy and companionship in their presence. Her love for animals was well-known among her family and friends. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband Richard, Mary is survived by her children: Nancy Burkholder (wife of James) of Millersville, Tina Burkholder (wife of Sherman) of Millersville, Jay Neff (husband of Rosalind) of Lancaster and Jere Neff (husband of Daniele) of Wrightsville; her grandchildren: Lisa Sellers (wife of Dale), Eric Burkholder (husband of Luan), Carol Hershey (wife of Mark), Melissa Garner (wife of Blaine), Andrew Burkholder (husband of Stacy), Diana Nguyen, Christopher Neff (husband of Kayla), Meghan Minich (wife of Stephan), Carson Neff (husband of Kate), and Dylan Neff (husband of Kathleen); her great grandchildren: Jacie, Lindsey, Skylah, Madison, Paige, Elise, Ella, Mitchell, Morgan, Alaina, Evan, Gabrielle, Lezlie, Olivia, Zach, Damian, Kenzea, Jaylee and Oliver; and one great-great grandchild: Adriana.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her 8 siblings.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA. 17584 from 10am to 11am with a celebration of life to begin at 11am. Burial will be held at a later date.
