IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Jane
“Dolly” Harr
July 19, 2025
Mary Jane "Dolly" Harr, 87, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her residence.
Born in Mather, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stephen J. and Ann Margaret (Bator) Harvilla. She was the loving wife of the late Albert E. Harr, Jr. with whom she enjoyed 65 years of marriage.
A graduate of Jefferson High School, she met the love of her life, Albert, during those formative years. The two later moved to Lancaster for Albert's work, where they built a loving home and lasting memories. Mary Jane worked part-time at Warfel Construction and Lowell's Leather Goods, while also dedicating herself to her family. A woman of deep faith, she was a founding member of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church and an active participant in the women's club. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she shared it generously with those around her. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Cub Scouts, and took great pride in nurturing and supporting her family. Mary Jane was known for her delicious traditional Slovakian cooking, which she lovingly prepared and shared with her family. A talented seamstress, she crafted clothing for her family that has been passed down to generations. Above all, her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Debi) Harr and Cynthia (Kenneth) Morris; her grandchildren, Bridget (Bri) Harr, Adam Harr, Allison (Matthew) Lu, and Andrew Morris; and her great-grandchildren, Everett, Reggi, Josie, and Millie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; and siblings, Betty Petron, Robert Harvilla, Stephen Harvilla, and Eileen Harshman.
Friends and family will be received from 10a.m. to 11a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2025, at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Dolly's name to St. Jude's Children Hospital at: stjude.org or to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
