Mary Louise Bartholomay, 87, of Landisville passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at Oak Leaf Manor, North. She was the wife of the late George C. Bartholomay who passed away in 2011. Born in Rochester, NY she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Frances (Boppel) Fess. Mary Lou graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Rochester, NY and then earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Nazareth College. She was a visiting nurse after her graduation and then became a homemaker during her children's younger years. Mary Lou loved to sing, play the piano and guitar. She enjoyed volunteer work within her church and community, traveling with her family to Florida, Hawaii, Russia, Aruba and across the United States. Mary Lou was a devout catholic and was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church in Mount Joy. She was a very kind, caring woman and maintained her dignity, humbleness and tenderness throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mary Lou is survived by her three children, Nancy B. wife of Phil Rainey, Jr. of Mount Joy, PA, G. Andrew Bartholomay husband of Diane of State College, PA and John M. Bartholomay of Mountville, PA; one grandson Patrick A. Rainey. She was preceded in death by a grandson Thomas G. Rainey. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 at 10AM from Mary, Mother of the Church Roman Catholic Parish, 625 Union School Rd., Mount Joy, PA 17552 with Fr. Pang Tsheou as celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of her family in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. There will be no viewing at the Church on Friday. Please omit flowers and consider a contribution to Oak Leaf Manor, North c/o Friendship Place, 2901 Harrisburg Pike, Landisville, PA 17538 or to Caring Hospice, 101 Good Dr. 1st. Floor, Lancaster, PA 17603 in her memory.
