Martha Stevens Walsh, 86, of Brethren Village, Lancaster, died August 26, 2012.  Born April 6, 1926 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Irene Lehr Stevens.  She and her husband John A. "Jerry" Walsh celebrated 60 years of marriage November 17, 2011.

She was a graduate of Quincy (MA) High School and received a B.A. degree in economics from Connecticut College for Women, New London, CT.

After marriage, she worked as a bookkeeper in Utica and Buffalo, NY.  She was a Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League.

She leaves behind her loving husband and four children, Andrew S. Walsh, husband of Lee, of Berwyn, David F. Walsh , husband of Bethany, of LaCrosse, WI, Susan, wife of Douglas Ober of Watchung, NJ, and Sarah, wife of Bryan Dieter, of St. Louis, MO, eleven grandchildren, Caroline Murray, Lindsay Walsh, Timothy, Sean, Daniel, and Thomas Walsh, Douglas, Claire, and Jed Ober, Max and Ellie Dieter, and sister, Carolyn Amstutz, of Andover, MA, brother-in-law, Joseph Walsh, and nieces Jennifer, wife of Spencer Warnick, and Elizabeth, wife of Neil Munro.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 11 AM.  Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10 until 11 AM.  Private interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery Columbarium will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Martha's memory may be made to National Kidney Foundation, 111 S.
