Martha Jane (Shaffer) Pozza, 71, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Robert Earl Pozza. Born May 11, 1945 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Florence E. (Leisey) Shaffer, Sr. Jane attended John Piersol McCaskey High School. She was a devoted animal lover and enjoyed vacationing in Atlantic City. She was an avid music listener and was a huge fan of the classic sounds of Motown. She was employed at the Lancaster General Hospital. Jane will be affectionately missed by her siblings, Ronald E. Leisey married to Willie, of Pequea, Eleanor M. Forbes, of Virginia, Harry M. Shaffer, Jr. married to Karen, of Columbia, sister-in-law Mary Anne Pozza, and brother-in-law Joseph B. Pozza, III. She was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet L. (Shaffer) Kipphorn, wife of Robert, of Lancaster. A viewing will be held from 10-11AM on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. A graveside service will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Martha may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy E, Lancaster, PA 17602.
