Martha S. Koelbl, 98, formerly of Manheim, died peacefully at Moravian Manor on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Dourte Snavely and wife of the late Charles Gordon Koelbl.
Mrs. Koelbl graduated from Manheim High School in 1936 and was employed by Armstrong World Industries until the time of her retirement. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Manheim and enjoyed attending services. At age 90, she took her first airplane ride to California to visit her beloved sister, Ruth. She will be remembered for her easy going demeanor and sweetness of personality.
The family wishes to thank Moravian Manor, particularly Health Center West, for their constant, competent, and compassionate care during her eight years of residence.
Mrs. Koelbl is survived by her daughter, Janis, wife of Brian Snavely, granddaughter, Allison Snavely, grandson Blair Snavely, husband of Stephanie, and great-grandsons, Joel, Brett, and Pierce. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Elam, Edgar, Melvin, Martin, and Wilmer; sisters, Esther Myer, Edna Snavely, Ruth Petticoffer, and half-siblings, Monroe Snavely, Mamie Snavely, and Stella Winters.
A luncheon in Mrs. Koelbl's memory will be held in Garden Court of Moravian Manor, 300 W. Lemon St. Lititz, PA 17543 on Saturday, October 14, from 1:00-3:00. If desired, contributions in her memory may be made to The Benevolent Fund of Moravian Manor at the above address or PA SPCA Lancaster Center, 848 S. Prince St. Lancaster, PA 17603.
