Mario Rodriguez Rivera, 67, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 in the Dominican Republic. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Jose (Chalo) Rodriguez Burgos and Virginia Rivera Olmeda.

Mario aka "El Gran Mario" started as a carpenter and worked his way up to a contractor for his company "Casas Lindas". He was also a Minister of God's word around the world.

He worked on his special book project for over 20 years and was very passionate about it. He was finally able to publish "Descubre los Secretos Profundos de Jonas: La Historia que Cambio mi Vida " on October 19, 2021. Mario enjoyed preaching, spending time with his family, using Photoshop, telling jokes, and sharing the word of God in the United States, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Guatemala among others.

He is survived by his children: Brenda Noy, Hicella Rodriguez, Melissa Rodriguez, Jessica Ayala, Mario A. Rodriguez, Virginia V. Rodriguez, and Eva V. Rodriguez. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his siblings: Angela, Carlos J. , Israel , Magdalena , Luz M. , Aurora, and Marta Rodriguez Rivera.

A Service Celebrating Mario's Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Lancaster Hispanic II Seventh-day Adventist Church (Iglesia Adventista Hisp de Lancaster II), 719 Marietta Ave Lancaster PA 17603-3437 [Street Parking Only]. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life.
