Marie Frances (DeDe) Stauffer, 78, of Manheim passed away March 24, 2025 at Abbeyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
She was the second of four daughters born to Frank Bernard and Winifred Victoria (Taylor) Ganse, in Lancaster. Marie was the loving wife of John C. Stauffer Jr. who passed away in May of 2021.
She attended St. Anthony's Catholic School in Lancaster and was a 1964 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. Marie worked at Armstrong Flooring for several years. Marie also spent time designing and sewing for Sight and Sound Theater, and also helped in the creative department for Janelle Berte Studios in Lancaster. Marie created lasting memories and cherished great friends through her time helping at Lancaster Catholic High School Band Parents Association.
Most of all, Marie loved spending time with her late husband and family, especially her beloved grandchild, Sophie.
Marie is survived by her children, John C. Stauffer, III, of East Petersburg, wife Heather and grandchild Sophia; daughter Wendy Forshey wife of Jason Forshey of Lancaster; her sisters, Anne V. Beigel wife of Nicholas Beigel, nephew Bob, niece Donna of Kettering, OH; Helen Beigel of Centerville, OH, Patricia Clark, niece Stephanie (and family), nephew, Chad (and family) of Lancaster. She was predeceased by her nephew David Beigel of Kettering, OH, niece Amy Johnson, Tampa, FL, and nephew Steven Clark of Lancaster and her beloved tabby cat, Willow.
A celebration of Life will be held at a date determined by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie's name to Lancaster Catholic High School Music & Arts Department, 650 Juliette Avenue, Lancaster, Pa 17601.
