Marie (Di Orio) Iaquinta, 88, a native of Philadelphia PA, passed away on Friday at Lancaster General Hospital. She had been a resident at the Mennonite Home. She was the daughter of the late Joseph V. Di Orio and Laura (Ellis) Di Orio and was the wife of the late Battalion Chief Frank L. Iaquinta, who passed away in 1983.
Mrs. Iaquinta was a homemaker, a volunteer at Lancaster General Hospital, and at the Monastery of the Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary on Lititz Pike. A former member of the Iris Club and Lancaster Garden Club, she enjoyed bowling and reading. She was also a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
A beloved mother, she is survived by her sons: Louis J., husband of Susan of Maryland, and Frank L., husband of Pamela of Lancaster, and four grandchildren, Frank III, Michael, Regina and Susan Marie. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis, who died during the Battle of The Bulge, and Joseph Di Orio, and a sister, Jean Wiesner.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, Inc. 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. 17543, (717) 560-5100 at 9:30AM with Fr. Edward M. Gaffney OP serving. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Montgomery Co at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marie's memory to the Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary 1834 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
