Maria Luisa Cruz Rios, 74, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Ponce, PR, Maria was the loving daughter of the late Monserrate Cruz and Julia Rios.

A homemaker, Maria found great joy as a stay-at-home mom, raising her five children who she loved dearly. She was known as a nurturing person, caring, always happy, gentle, and humble. Maria loved cooking and shared many meals with neighbors. Holidays were always especially important to her as she would gather with her family and celebrate with some specially cooked meals.

Maria is survived by four of her children: Maria D. Rios, Maribel Rodriguez, Sonia Rodriguez and Teodoro Rodriguez. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Janette Rios.

Funeral services will be held at 4PM, Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 3PM until 4PM. Maria will be gently laid to rest in her hometown, Ponce, PR.
