“Peg” Bowers

Marguerite E. "Peg" Bowers, 93, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Anne's Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster, she is the daughter of the late Paul Brinser and Margaret Eisch Bowers. Peg is survived by her sister, Doris Mae Dolan of Media and her brother, Paul Robert married to Lucille Borowicz Bowers of Lancaster, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Audrey Harnish and Constance Allison. Peg was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing where she was an active member of the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. After working in hospitals for several years, she worked as a Visiting Nurse for Armstrong World Industries and retired in 1986 after more than30 years of service. Peg was a talented and well-known pianist and organist, serving as an organist at St. Anne's Catholic Church, St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Historic St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lancaster Regional Hospital Chapel and St. Anne's Retirement Community. She was also a member of the Organists Guild of Lancaster She loved gardening, growing beautiful red roses, and baking, with desserts being her specialty. She was always thinking of others and consistently would send remembrances to family and friends for their birthdays and other special occasions. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz from 6-8PM, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30PM. Friends may call again on Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 from 10-11AM, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Peg's memory to the Music Ministry of St. John Neumann Catholic Church at the above address.
