She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA, having sung in the choir and participated in women's Bible Study. Her faith was the driving force behind her commitment to do everything to the best of her ability for the Glory of God. As a resident of Brethren Village, Marge spent years serving others while volunteering as treasurer in the campus grocery store.

Marge was a teacher and trainer, a curriculum writer, a researcher, an advisor, a youth camp director/administrator and one known in all her endeavors as having and demonstrating a positive sense of humor and a commitment to value-driven work. She was the national director of accreditation, and then established the Research Department at ACA, successfully raising grant funds to complete research efforts in youth development and other Association research.

Throughout her career, her life was full of volunteer opportunities including time with the National Collaboration for Youth, National Camp Executive's Group, Council for Religiously Affiliated Camps, Council for National Cooperation in Aquatics, Capital City Chorus, Board of Directors of the American Camping Association, Board of Directors of Flat Rock YMCA Camp (Indiana), Board of Trustees of Cairn University, grant reviewer for Lilly Endowment and Sweet Adelines International, and consultant with camps and conference centers.
