IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaretha “Maggie”
Kiralfy
December 4, 2025
Margaretha "Maggie" Kiralfy, 76, also known as MorMor to others, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Lidingö, Sweden, she was the daughter of the late Nils and Birgit Andersson. She was married for 54 years to her beloved husband, Jay Kiralfy.
She met her husband, Jay, while vacationing with friends in Mallorca, Spain. He was in the US Navy on leave while serving in the Mediterranean. After only three dates and writing to one another for a year, they were married in Sweden in 1971. She then left her entire family in Sweden and moved with her new husband to the US, settling first in Lititz. The couple soon moved to Las Vegas, NV where her husband could pursue a career in hotel management. Later, they welcomed their daughter Jennifer. In 1986, they decided to move back to Lititz to be with family and have lived in Lititz ever since.
She and her husband worked together throughout the years, but her favorite position was program assistant at what was originally called Harb-Adult and now Transitional Living Center (TLC) operated by Tenfold. In this position, she worked with Jay and countless others to help individuals, veterans, and families end the cycle of homelessness. She treated the residents and staff like they were family. She made so many friends and touched so many lives. She retired after 28 years in 2016 and then continued to volunteer one day a week for another four years.
She is survived by her husband, Jay, daughter, Jen Brubaker, her favorite son-in-law, Rev. Scott Brubaker, all of Lititz, and her cherished granddaughter, Abigail, of Washington, DC. She also has her two sisters, Gunvor Lindecrantz and Inez Hallnäs, sister-in-law Ingalill Blessered, nieces Catarina Elvhage and Caroline Bjurling, nephews Jan Lindecrantz and Peter Hallnäs, and many great-nieces and great-nephews all still in Sweden. Finally, since none of her family members were in the US, she was grateful for the love of the countless number of in-laws on the Kiralfy side.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Ake Andersson and Arne Blessered, brothers-in-law Kjell Lindecrantz and Stefan Hallnäs, niece Ann Ehnström, father- and mother-in-law Jerry and Nancy Kiralfy, and brother-in-law Wray Kiralfy.
Maggie's family will greet friends from 3 to 4 pm, followed by a memorial service at 4pm with The Rev. Scott V. Brubaker officiating on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the TLC Renovation Project by visiting www.wearetenfold.org/tlc-capital-campaign-renovation-project/ or checks can be made out to Tenfold with "The Journey Home" in the memo and returned to Tenfold, PO Box 1676, Lancaster, PA 17608.
