Margaret T. Bricker, 87, of Millersville, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Hilton Head, SC.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Herzog) Trees. Margaret was married to Richard H. Bricker Sr. for 64 years.
A 1938 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Margaret worked in the billing departments of Armstrong Cork Co. and John W. Eshleman & Sons Feed Company, and was a bookkeeper at Meadow Hills Dining Hall, and most recently at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, retiring in 1980.
She was on the Steering Committee at Oak Knoll Homeowners Association, and was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital, transporting patients to different procedures. Margaret was a 12-year member of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Team, the "Wolf Pack", and was an Auxiliary Member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football and Philadelphia Eagles. She enjoyed swimming, traveling all over the world, and loved spending winters in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head. She enjoyed her family and friends, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, James R. Bricker, married to Nancy L. of Lancaster; a sister, Catherine L. Trees; and a brother, John E. Trees, both of Lancaster; grandson, Timothy W. Bricker of Schwenksville, PA; two granddaughters, Cynthia Henry, married to Dave of North Wales, PA; and Sharon Helt, married to Eric of Lansdale, PA; and 8 great-grandchildren: Hailey, Camryn, Erin, Emily, Luke, Lauren, Andrew and Kaitlyn. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard H. Bricker, Jr.; a sister, Florita Marie Trees; and two brothers: Robert A. Trees and George E. Trees.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 558 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA with Rev. Michael C. Grab as Celebrant. Friends will be received on Thursday from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA. For those wishing to join the family for the Rosary, please be present at 8:30 a.m. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the American Cancer Society, Lancaster Relay For Life 2008; Wolf Pack Team, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
