IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Malinda J.
Di Bella
November 15, 2024
Malinda J. Di Bella, 70, of Strasburg, passed away at Providence Place in Lancaster on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was the loving wife of Dominick J. Di Bella for 50 years. Malinda and Dominick met in eleventh grade at Upper Darby High School, where they graduated in 1971.
Born in Danville, Montour County, PA, Malinda was the daughter of the late Frank Leonard Gregory and Jean (Smith) Gregory.
Malinda completed nursing school and worked as a registered nurse, first as an emergency room nurse and then as an operating room charge nurse, retiring in 2013. She was very dedicated to her job and patients and had a strong work ethic. In retirement, she volunteered with Hospice & Community Care.
Malinda attended High View Church of God with Dominick.
In addition to Dominick, Malinda's family includes their daughters, Danielle A. Di Bella of Auckland, New Zealand, and Nicole E. Di Bella of Elkhart, IN. Also surviving are her brothers, Leonard Gregory, husband of Joanne of Glenside, PA, Steven Gregory, husband of Brenda of Tampa, FL, and Todd Gregory of Holyoke, MA, and Dominick's brother, Gus Di Bella, husband of Laurie of Mexico, and his sister, Francis Moliterno of Arizona. She also loved our family pets Dorrie, Eloise, Iggy, Max, Julie, Sal and Trixie.
She supported her family in many unseen ways, from leading Girl Scouts to participating in the annual church pageant and school functions to supporting Dominick's passion for service. Malinda was always there in the background, and we are forever grateful for this.
In her way, she had a deep connection to God and spirit, which came through during her many years as a nurse, teacher, mother, and wife of a U.S. Naval officer.
Her creativity was endless; earlier in her life, she enjoyed sewing Halloween costumes for the family and celebrating birthdays with decorations and flare; later, she generously knitted scarves for the Breast Cancer Society and other charities.
Both her parents and her brother, John Mitchell Gregory, preceded Malinda in death.
Malinda's family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, at High View Church of God, 2470 Leaman Road, Ronks, PA 17572. The Rev. Mark J. Thiboldeaux, Sr. will officiate at the memorial service at 11 a.m.
Please omit flowers, and kindly consider a contribution in Malinda's memory to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4215, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. Hospice & Community Care
