Makeo Hongvanthong, 97, of Brownstown, died peacefully surrounded by her loving and large family at her home on Monday, April 23rd, 2018. She was born in Salavan, Laos and was the daughter of Bong and Tha Bouanbane. She was a self-employed entrepreneur and loved farming and gardening. Makeo sold her home grown produce to local grocery stores. She immigrated to the United States with her family from Laos following the Vietnam War shortly after her husband, Thanh Hoangvan Sr., died in 1978. She is survived by 11 children; Champavanh Hongvanthong, Soulichan Douangsouri, Chantavy Bouanban, Bouasy Hongvanthong, Somlith Hongvanthong, Kee Hongvanthong, Thongsook Viengkone, Kongchit Hongvanthong, Pasith Hongvanthong, Khemphet Hongvanthong, and Thanh Hoangvan, Jr.; 40 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and 3 siblings, Khemma, Chanthala and Douang Bouanbane. She was preceded in death by three children, Mo, Boualay and Somlith Benh Hongvanthong. The family will receive guests at a viewing on Saturday, April 28th 2018 from 2PM-6PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Buddhist Ceremony and cremation will take place immediately following the viewing in the Snyder Crematory Chapel.
