Madelyn Ann Dixon, 56, of Lancaster died Sunday, October 15, 2006 at her residence.

She worked at Acme and Bulova Technologies for a total of 20 years.

Madelyn was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was a choir member and a trustee.  An avid photographer, Madelyn loved to travel, spend time with her grandchildren, sing and knit.

Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of Willamena Margaret Whedbee and the late Marvin Marshall Preston.

Surviving are five children; Daretta Preston and fiancé Eric Poindexter; Trenton married to Jamie Coward; Lyndell Coward; Lenell Preston; Bianca Dixon and fiancé Jerry J. Johnson all of Lancaster; 18 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; six brothers; Marvin Preston Jr.; Jeffrey married to Guillerama Preston; Michael Waters; Dean married to Vanessa Preston; Stan married to Mary Calloway all of Lancaster; Paul Reitzel of York; one sister, Tammy married to Herman Green of Lancaster.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Terrie L. Walker.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 367 Simpson St., York, PA 17403 on Saturday at 10:00am.  A viewing will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Friday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and again at the church Saturday morning from 9:00am until 10:00am.  Interment in Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Madelyn's memory to the church or to Southern Care Hospice, 340 Highland Dr. Suite 200, Mountville, PA 17554.
