Mabel A. Herr entered into eternal rest at Landis Homes at the age of 93 on May 22, 2025. She was born in Lancaster County to Elmer H. and Mary O. (Stauffer) Herr.

Mabel graduated from Eastern Mennonite College. After college, she moved to the Bronx, NY, where she and her friend, Norma Brenner, began a Bible club. What started with just 10 children grew to serve over 200 each week during the years Mabel and Norma led the program. Their work became a vital ministry, and both were active volunteers in the community.

Mabel later returned to Lancaster to care for her parents. She began working at Provident Bookstore, where she managed Bible study materials and served faithfully for 36 years.

She is survived by her brothers, Harold Herr of Ephrata, PA, and Dr. Earl Herr of California. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Frank, Warren, Edith, Esther, John, and Mary.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Landis Homes East Chapel, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543, with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at New Providence Mennonite Cemetery.

Mabel will be lovingly remembered for her deep love for God, her lifelong commitment to the church, and her willingness to help others.
