Joseph "Joe" Guarino, 73, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. Guarino, with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage this past May. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles Guarino and the late Angela Casciotta Guarino Comfort. After high school, Joe served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Joe spent his career as an Optician, moving to Lancaster in 1966 with Berks Optical. Along with his beloved wife Judy, he founded Guarino Opticians in 1979. In 1994, Guarino Opticians was combined with Campus Eye Center and became Campus Opticians, where Joe worked until his retirement at the end of 2011. In his retirement, he worked part time with long-time friend, Dr. Justin Cappiello. Joe's family was the focus of his life. In addition to his wife, Judith, he is survived by his children: Joseph C. Guarino married to Jennifer (Harris) Guarino, of Hudson, OH, and Jennifer G. Tanceto, married to Rick Tancreto, of Dunkirk, MD. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Gabriel and Christian Guarino, and Carly Tancreto, who will miss their "Papa." In his free time, Joe enjoyed fine automobiles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Friends will be received on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 6-8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Friends may call again on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 9-10AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10AM.
