Luz Maria Cortes Hernandez, 73, of Lancaster, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 2, 2018. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of Tomas Cortes and Maria Eugenia Hernandez. She was the wife of the late Francisco Rodriguez who died in 2002. Many may remember Luz from Moca Shoe Factory in Puerto Rico, where she worked for 45 years before retiring. Her family and friends will remember her as a kind, loving woman dedicated to her family. Luz is survived by her three children; Lourdes Rodriguez Cortez (Rafael), Lancaster, David Rodriguez (Labell), FL, and Francisco Rodriguez, Puerto Rico, her siblings, Marta I. Cortes and Elizabeth Cortes, of Puerto Rico, Felix Cortes, New York, and Virginia Cortes, Lancaster, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Israel and Roque Cortes. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 9th, 2018 at 12:00noon, at Iglesia Puerta de Refugio, 220 W. King St. Lancaster, PA 17603. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00noon. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
