Luther L. Henry, 83, of Manheim, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Wrightsville, PA he was the son of the late Luther L. and Anna M. (Landis) Henry. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Watson) Henry who passed away in 2011. He started his law enforcement career in 1959, joining the Lancaster City Police department and became captain of the detectives before retiring in 1985 after 26 years of service. Luther later took on a position with the PA Attorney General where he was head of Internal Affairs for the division of narcotics. Luther proudly served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda L., wife of James Dowell, of Landisville; son, Luther Alan Henry, husband of Paula, of Yorktown, VA; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, James Dowell, Jr., a brother, Donald C. Henry and a sister, Diana M. Mylin. A Celebration of Luther's Life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Rd, Manheim, PA 17545.
