The family of Luis G. Silva wishes to announce his unexpected passing on September 30, 2025, at his home. Born in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Eliza Collazo and the late Juan Silva.

Many remember Luis as a man that would always lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. Frequently scurrying around the neighborhood on his electric tricycle, he would often stop to assist others with small tasks or take his grandchildren on rides. Regardless of when or how you saw him, he was guaranteed to be wearing one of his many hats, as he was an avid hat collector. His family also remember his fondness of western and kung fu movies, which he oftentimes watched the same movies.

Luis will be missed by his beloved wife, Margarita Diaz of Leola, children, Elisa Espola Santo (John Santos), Luis G. Silva Jr., Yolanda Ortiz, Sindya Ortiz, Nancy Ortiz, and Geremiah Trego, 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and his siblings, Emilino Silva, Rafael Silva, Antonio Silva, Maribel Silva, Maritza Acevedo, Claribel Silva, Norma Silva, Miguel Silva, and Robinson Silva.

The family invite guests to a viewing on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602, from 5 PM – 7 PM.
