Luis Alex Fuentes, 39, of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 24, 2025. He was the loving son of Felipe Carcamo and Cristina Ferrufino. Affectionately known as "Lu," Luis was born in Los Angeles, CA, on July 11, 1985, and raised in Lancaster, PA.
Luis attended McCaskey High School and went on to work in a variety of roles throughout his life. He was proud to be a hardworking man, excelling as a chef, a foundry worker, and as a co-owner of a fence installation business with his brother. Luis found joy in a busy day's work and never shed away from getting his hands dirty.
Luis had a deep love for grilling and barbecuing, often bringing family and friends together with his cooking. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he cared about, sharing stories and laughter. Known for his unique sense of humor and captivating storytelling, Luis had a special way of making people smile and brightening any room he entered. He had a kind, caring heart and always put the needs of others before his own, even in his last days when he was facing his own mental illness.
Luis loved spending time with his dogs and found comfort and joy in their companionship. He appreciated the time and company of others and truly valued the connections he built with those around him. His kindness, selflessness, and unique sense of humor were gifts to everyone who knew him. He also was a proud Mama's boy.
Luis is survived by his parents, Felipe Carcamo and Cristina Ferrufino of Lancaster, his siblings, Francisco Ferrufino of Lancaster, Scott Morant Jr., Joel Carcamo of New Holland, Elizabeth Carcamo of New Holland, and Erika Carcamo of Lancaster. He also leaves behind his beloved niece and nephews, Londynn Carcamo of Lancaster, Cameron Talton of New Holland, and Johan Carcamo of Lancaster.
A private funeral service to honor Luis's life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, beginning at 11AM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584 for family and close friends. A time of visitation will be held prior beginning at 10AM.
Luis's smile, humor, and loving spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
