Luis A. Colon, 83, of Lancaster passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Jose N. and Agustina (Colon) Aponte. Luis is survived by his wife, Margaret F. (Hanna) Colon of Lancaster. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on August 26, 2013. Luis worked as a laborer for Fleur-De-Lait Foods, Inc. in New Holland for over 45 years. He was an avid sports fan and especially liked the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his loving wife, are his 5 daughters, Priscilla Colon, of Coamo, PR, Edna Colon, of NJ, Linda, Donna, widow, of James R. Saunders, and Lori Colon, all of Lancaster. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Ildefonso and Hector Colon, of Coamo, PR and a sister, Julia Colon of San Juan, PR. He was preceded in death by a son Luis A. Colon II and 3 siblings. Funeral Services will be at 11AM on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
