Lucille M. "Lu" Bowers, 92, of Lancaster, passed away on February 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Paul R. Bowers, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Farrell, PA, Lu was the daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine (Betlejewska) Borowicz.

Lu started her career working for Westinghouse Electric Corp in Sharon, Pa, where she met her husband, Paul. She took time off to raise her family and ended her career working as a medical secretary with numerous doctors' offices in Lancaster County.

Lu enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, playing bridge and going to the beach. Spending time with her family was one of her greatest joys, and she loved her family pets.

She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband, Paul, she is survived by her sons: Paul Michael Bowers, husband of Kim (Sheckler) of Mechanicsburg, and Mark Bowers, husband of Melissa (Mink) of Gastonia, NC; her four grandchildren Paul Thomas, Alexander, Adam, and Brianna, and her three great grandchildren Paul Wesley, Brynlee, and Rowyn. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, 2nd Lt. Matthew Bowers, and her siblings: Hank, Sister Mary Emmeline, Richard, Ed, Irene, Genevieve, Victoria, Joan (Jo), Norbert, and Theresa.

Friends will be received by Lu's family on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10-11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601, with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
