Louis J. Pistella Sr., 92, of Lititz, passed away, Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Heart of Lancaster. Born in Pittsburgh,Pa., he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Pistella. Louis was the husband of the late Katherine (Rohanich) Pistella who died in 1976.

Louis proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was stationed in North Africa and Italy from 1942-1945. Louis retired from Packaging Corp. of America after 37 years of employment as an Assistant Foreman. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Louis enjoyed bowling and in his younger years, he played basketball.

Louis is survived by a son; Louis J. Pistella Jr. husband of Patricia of Clarksgreen, Pa., and  a daughter; Patricia Gradia wife of Robert of Ephrata.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; John and Frank Pistella and a sister; Elizabeth Palmieri.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009 at St. James Catholic Church 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz 17543 at 11 a.m. with Rev. James O' Blainey as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received before the service at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel 3110 Lititz Pike, 17543 from 930-1030 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Ephrata.
