Louella W. Fortna, 83, of Manheim Twp., passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Brethren Village. She was born on July 29, 1933 in Palmyra, PA to the late Abram G. and Lillie R. Weaver. She attended Palmyra High School.

Louella is the widow of Ralph W. Fortna who died on February 13, 2014. She is predeceased by 14 older siblings and one son, Theodore Fortna.

She is survived by one daughter, Lillian DeHart, wife of Peter, Middletown, PA and 7 sons: Edward Fortna, Akron, PA, Harold Fortna, husband of Joanna, Bradford, MA, Ronald Fortna, husband of Sabrina, Joshua Tree, CA, Dennis Fortna, St. Louis, MO, Bernard Fortna, husband of Joyce, Millersville, PA, Andrew Fortna, husband of Jane Dudley, Pittsburgh, PA, and John Fortna, husband of Debbie, Canonsburg, PA. She is also survived by 25 Grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Denver United Methodist Church, Mohler Church of the Brethren and most recently the Lititz Church of Brethren.

Louella was a homemaker. She also worked at the Denver Shoe Store, Jos. S. Harris Variety Store, and Maple Farms Nursing Home. Louella retired from F. W. Woolworth Distribution Center in Denver in 1995.

Louella had a deep interest in family history and compiled binders for each of her children and extended family.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606 on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dana Statler officiating. Viewing will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W.
