Obituary

"When you remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do as I ask, I will live forever."

Lorraine Sensenig, 87, died June 28, 2015 in the care of The Mennonite Home and Lancaster Hospice. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jesse K. and Sue (Snader) Mellinger. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul B. Sensenig. Lorraine is survived by her daughter Allegra and her son-in-law Chris; her beloved sisters and brothers: Miriam, Elaine, Barbara, Merv and Jesse Jr., their spouses, and children.

Lorraine graduated with academic distinction from East Lampeter High School, Goshen College, and Temple University. She was a teacher of English and French in the classroom and of the great classicists at the piano. A lover of nature, literature, music, and a patron of the arts, she was a lifelong companion to her husband Paul in pursuit of these passions. She rests now where she has always been happiest….at Paul's side again…sharing their love of music and listening to the most joyous chorus imaginable.

Memorial contributions in Lorraine's name may be made to: Friends of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Inc., P.O. Box 1231, Cambridge, Maryland 21613; or online at http://www.friendsofblackwater.org/support.html.
