Lorraine J. Ressel, 89, died peacefully at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy, on Friday, September 29, 2017. Born in Lancaster on February 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Emma Braas Ressel and the late Morton Earl Ressel. Lorraine was a 1945 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and spent her entire working career at Armstrong World Industries. She was preceded in death by a cousin, Mildred R. Shuffelbottom, Lancaster. Surviving cousins are Virginia R. Bissinger, Landisville, and Dr. Joanne Evans, Marblehead, MA. Lorraine was a dedicated animal lover and supported many such organizations. The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff of LGH and Hospice for the special care given to Lorraine. We would also like to thank Rick Wagner for his numerous acts of kindness which enabled Lorraine to live alone. She was a kind and helpful friend to many. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
