Loretta H. Monaghan, 83, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Brethren Village.

Born in Oyster Bay, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Monaghan.

Loretta was a registered nurse. She started her career in the Army Nurse Corps. in 1945 and retired as a First Lieutenant. She then worked in various hospitals in Long Island, Florida, and at St. Joseph Hospital, Lancaster.

She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Town Club.

She is survived by her brother, Peter F. Monaghan of California. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary M. O'Conner and Rita A. Mally, and a brother, John J. Monaghan.

Funeral services will be held privately by her family in Oyster Bay, NY.  Memorials may be sent in her memory to The Town Club Scholarship Fund, 1812 Edenwald Lane, Lancaster PA 17601. Arrangements by Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, Lititz.
