Lois K. Witmer, 69, died on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Oscar Forrey and Ruth (Keagy) Forrey. Lois loved baking her famous sand-tarts, deep- sea fishing, penguins and country music, especially Conway Twitty. She was an enthusiastic gardener and loved her flower and vegetable garden. She is survived by her previous husband, Samuel R. Witmer, of Mount Joy; a son, Mitchell "Mitch" T. Witmer and his companion, Tammie L. Taylor of Elizabethtown, a son, Stanley "Scott" S. Witmer (Denise) of Maine and three grandchildren of Maine; two sisters, Ruth Wanner of Narvon, Susan Dougherty of Landisville, Miriam Groff of Mount Joy and a brother Ronald Forrey of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Retallack and a brother, James Forrey. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pk. on May 14, 2016 at 2:30PM with The Rev. Dana Statler officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Interment will be held at the West Green Tree Church in Elizabethtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
