Lois Spearing, 94, of Strasburg, died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on November 22, 2024, at the home of her son, Richard Spearing, of Holtwood, PA.

Born in York, PA., Lois was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathryn (Plowman) Byers. She eventually moved to Altoona, PA, where she met and married Samuel R. Spearing, who died in 2015. She was employed for many years by Lancaster-Lebanon IU13, as a teacher's aide, a job she truly loved.

Lois is survived by her daughters: Kathleen Sorensen (Tom) of Huntingdon, PA., Linda Werner of New Mexico, and sons: Samuel Spearing (Kim) of Holtwood, PA., Richard Spearing (Sherri) of Holtwood, PA., and Joseph Spearing of North Carolina. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Spearing, who died in 1983.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 S Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603 from 9am to 10am with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman.
